LCB will require 58-hours of Traceability downtime, but we still don’t know when. BioTrack has a plan in motion for paid customers to ensure no difference in your operations. Please watch your email for easy, quick instructions to avoid any issues.
A few days ago, the LCB announced that their new traceability provider, MJ Freeway, needs to turn off MJ Traceability for 58 hours before they can fully transition to the new Leaf Data System. Though the LCB has not yet announced the specific start day/time of the Traceability blackout, it is likely to be around October 31st, possibly the weekend before.
We are preparing to update your commercial BioTrackTHC system to begin feeding your required traceability compliance data to this new system. The evening before the “blackout” period begins, there will be some settings that you need to change so that you can continue to operate business-as-usual during both the blackout period and upon Leaf Data becoming operational. This configuration will have to occur after business hours the night before traceability blackout begins. For example, if the downtime period begins 10/29 (which is not a confirmed date yet), you’ll need to configure these fields on the night of 10/28, after your business has closed and no further activity is occurring. FAILURE TO TAKE THESE STEPS MAY RESULT IN NONCOMPLIANCE FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
We will be sending you detailed instructions on exactly what you need to configure in order to begin reporting to Leaf Data once we know the blackout date; the configurations will be minimal and should take no more than 10 minutes. Please pay close attention to your email as this will be critical to ensure minimal disruption to your operations during the blackout period. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can also schedule a time to speak with a dedicated BIoTrackTHC representative here. We look forward to assisting licensees with a smooth and seamless transition!
WHEN AND WHAT TO EXPECT
BioTrackTHC, Washington, and November 1st
What do you need to know?
As the LCB and MJ Freeway move closer to the launch of the new Leaf Data System, we want to make ourselves available for any questions or concerns you may have regarding the transition. Below are some brief answers to some of the questions we’ve heard most recently:
What’s changing in November?
For our paid, commercial partners, nothing will change. You will be able to continue operations as usual and we will provide full integrations with the new system.
Do I have to replace my system before November 1, 2017?
No. The LCB is replacing THEIR system. When you enter data into your business seed-to-sale system, it also submits that data to the LCB’s system, but they are separate systems.
Will my rates be increasing in November?
BioTrackTHC will NOT be increasing its rates for commercial system users as a result of the LCB changing its system. BioTrackTHC has no knowledge as to whether or not the LCB will be adding costs to licensees related to their new system.
Will Biotrack be integrated with the MJFreeway Leaf Data?
Yes, BioTrackTHC will provide full integrations with MJFreeway’s Leaf Data Systems with all license types. BioTrackTHC is already fully integrated with Leaf Data Systems in Nevada, so we will be able to retool and deploy the integrated solution for our Washington customers.
What do I need to do during the switchover?
We will continue to provide bi-weekly updates until Leaf Data Systems is up and running. BioTrackTHC customers do not need to do anything for the switchover. Beginning November 1 (or sooner if necessary), your BioTrackTHC business system will automatically point to the Leaf Data Systems site and begin submitting data.
What will happen to my historical data?
The data contained within your BioTrackTHC business system is your data. Nothing will happen to it. The data submitted from your system to the LCB’s Traceability System is their data, and they have had access to their own data since its first day of operations in early 2014. It is the responsibility of MJ Freeway to migrate the LCB’s data from the LCB’s Traceability System to the LCB’s new Leaf Data Systems without any effect to you.
